The number of teeth of the conveyor sprocket is selected from 6 to 40, and 8, 10, 12, and 16 are generally preferred. The number of teeth of the sprocket of the scraper reclaimer should not be selected too much. If the number of teeth of the sprocket selected is small, the traction chain will easily generate large (free and forced vibration) vibration when winding in and out of the sprocket, which is not good for the operation of the equipment. If the number of sprocket teeth increases, the diameter of the sprocket will inevitably increase, and the structural size of the equipment will also increase, which is not economical.
Therefore, after the number of sprocket teeth is determined, the parameters of the whole machine should be reasonably selected to reduce the vibration of the traction chain. According to experience, the number of teeth of the sprocket is more appropriate to choose between 8 and 10, and the scraper conveyor generally uses a sprocket with 8 teeth.
