What you need to know about JIS sprocket!
JIS sprocket is a wheel with cog-type sprocket, which is used to mesh with a block with accurate pitch on a link or cable.
JIS sprocket is a wheel with cog-type sprocket, which is used to mesh with a block with accurate pitch on a link or cable. A JIS sprocket can be used in combination with or without a D-shaped base plate to form a link or cable to have a higher pitch. The same JIS sprocket can be used for links with different pitch combinations. The D-shaped base plate allows the sprocket's movement to be determined by the same pitch and direction as the reference pitch set on the wheel.A second variation of the JIS sprocket allows the sprocket to be used for a single point in an angled linkage to have both a higher pitch and a smaller base plate, thus using one or two wheels. In this case, the link's reference pitch is set by the vertical component of the angle (A) of the link.
The tightness of the JIS sprocket should be appropriate. Too tight will increase power consumption and the bearings will be easily worn; too loose the sprocket will easily jump and fall off the chain. A JIS sprocket should not be too narrow to avoid the possibility of any pinching the chain or the teeth may become worn from the pressure. If the sprocket is too wide the teeth may not touch each other and the chain will not stretch and work. The same applies to the width of the ring gear or the sprocket. In some chains the ring gear may go up to the 12th sprocket. Thus the sprocket should be no laggier than the 12th.RING GEARSThe ring gear (or sprocket) should be the same width as the chainring so the chain will stretch. The width of the ring gear or the sprocket is not a consideration.
After the JIS sprocket is severely worn, the new sprocket and the new sprocket should be replaced at the same time to ensure good meshing. A JIS sprocket can be used in combination with or without a D-shaped peg.The JIS sprocket should be set down tightly on the JIS peg and rotated to its first possible position as near as possible to the left and right. Note- the same position is maintained by the JIS peg with the D-shaped peg, which is rotated more slightly towards the top. The left and right jist-side surfaces should be evenly angled so that a full width circle appears on both ends of the circle. It is possible to twist the end of the end of the "D"-shaped spur to the left and right - this is not considered proper. A true JIS sprocket is a vertical "D"-shaped spur with a right-pointing axis.
