The service life of ASA sprocket is relatively short, which is far from meeting the requirements of production practice. According to the use status, processing status and manufacturing technology of ASA sprocket, some improvement measures are proposed for ASA sprocket:

(1) The original ASA sprocket design material is 40Cr, the overall quenching and tempering hardness is HB220~250, and the tooth part is quenched HRC48~52. This method cannot improve the wear resistance of the ASA sprocket due to the limited quenching hardness of the teeth. It is recommended to change the ASA sprocket material to 20CrMnTi, carburizing and quenching treatment, the chain socket hardness can reach HRC60 or more, and its wear resistance is more than 2.5 times that of 40Cr material. This can greatly increase the service life of ASA sprocket, reduce the frequency of machine repair, increase productivity, and reduce production costs;

(2) The shape of the original ASA sprocket chain socket is forged and directly formed, so that the size error is large, the surface is rough, and the wear resistance is also reduced. With the wide application of CNC machine tools and the reduction of their processing costs, it is recommended to leave a little margin after forging and finish machining by milling to improve dimensional accuracy and surface roughness, thereby achieving the purpose of improving wear resistance.

1. The tightness of the ASA sprocket should be appropriate. Too tight will increase power consumption and the bearings will be easily worn; too loose ASA sprocket will easily jump and fall off the chain. The tightness of the ASA sprocket is as follows: lifted or pressed down from the middle of the ASA sprocket, about 2%-3% of the center distance between the two ASA sprocket.

2. The ASA sprocket should not swing and skew when installed on the shaft. In the same transmission assembly, the end faces of two ASA sprockets should be in the same plane. When the center distance of ASA sprocket is less than 0.5 meters, the deviation can be 1 mm; when the center distance of ASA sprocket is more than 0.5 meters, the deviation can be 2 mm. . However, there must be no friction on the side surfaces of the ASA sprocket teeth. If the two wheels offset too much, it will easily cause chain disconnection and accelerated wear. When replacing the ASA sprocket, you must pay attention to check and adjust the offset.

3. After the ASA sprocket is severely worn, the new ASA sprocket and the new ASA sprocket should be replaced at the same time to ensure good meshing. It is not possible to replace the new ASA sprockets or new ASA sprockets alone. Otherwise it will cause poor meshing and accelerate the wear of the new ASA sprockets or new ASA sprockets. When the tooth surface of the ASA sprocket wears to a certain degree, it should be turned over and used in time (referring to the ASA sprocket used with adjustable surface) to extend the use time.

4. The new ASA sprocket is too long or stretched after use, which is difficult to adjust. You can remove the chain link depending on the situation, but it must be an even number. The chain link should pass through the back of the ASA sprocket, the lock piece should be inserted outside, and the opening of the lock piece should face the opposite direction of rotation.

5. ASA sprocket should be filled with lubricating oil in time during work. Lubricating oil must enter the matching gap between the roller and the inner sleeve to improve working conditions and reduce wear.

6. The old ASA sprocket cannot be mixed with part of the new ASA sprocket, otherwise it is easy to produce impact in the transmission and break the ASA sprocket.

7. When the machine is stored for a long time, the ASA sprocket should be removed and cleaned with kerosene or diesel, and then coated with oil or butter and stored in a dry place.
