1. Manufacturing issues
Several typical errors, such as eccentricity, pitch deviation, shape error, pitch error, base joint error, tooth profile error, etc. Usually occurs when manufacturing sprockets. Eccentricity refers to the degree to which the base circle or index circle of the gear is not concentric with the rotation axis of the gear, such as a small wheel. Pitch deviation refers to the error between the actual pitch and the nominal pitch of a gear (such as a large gear). The shape error means that in the working part of the gear teeth, the distance between two theoretical involute tooth profiles can accommodate the actual tooth profile. When these errors of the gear are serious, it will rotate quickly and slowly in the gear transmission, causing shock and loud noise during meshing. Pitch error refers to the difference between any two pitches on the same circumference of the gear. Base pitch error refers to the difference between two parallel tangents of two adjacent tooth profiles with the same name on the gear. In fact, it is the tooth pitch and the nominal tooth pitch.


2. Assembly problems
Due to factors such as assembly process and assembly method, when assembling the sprocket, abnormal phenomena such as "one-end contact", gear axis deviation (different shafts, misalignment), gear unbalance, etc. usually occur. When a pair of gear shafts that mesh with each other are not parallel, only one end will contact in the tooth width direction, otherwise linear deviation of the gear will occur, causing the gear to bear the load unevenly in the tooth width direction, and the dynamic torque cannot be smoothly transmitted. This situation is called "one-end contact", which will cause excessive load on the part of the tooth and may cause the tooth to break.
3. Poor lubrication
For high-speed and heavy-duty gears, poor lubrication will cause local overheating of the sprocket, resulting in discoloration and gluing. There are many reasons why the lubrication is not good. In addition to the blockage of the oil circuit and the oil injection hole, there are also oil ingress, deterioration of the oil, and high oil temperature. Will lead to poor lubrication of the tooth surface.
